Public URL

Capture any public webpage with Alloy URL capture. No installation required. Transform websites into editable prototypes instantly. Try now.

Overview

If a page is publicly accessible without login, paste its URL into Alloy and we'll recreate it—no installation required. Public URL captures produce high-quality results and are perfect for quickly reproducing static, public designs.

How it works

  1. Copy the URL of any publicly accessible page
  2. Paste it into Alloy's URL input field
  3. Alloy recreates the page as an editable prototype
  4. Start modifying with prompts or visual editing

Best for

  • Quickly recreating public pages (e.g., recreating the Google home page in seconds)
  • Static, publicly available designs
  • Situations where browser extension installation isn't possible
  • Quick demos and experiments

Accessing captures

When you capture a page via URL, Alloy stores a copy as a Capture. The original Capture remains intact even if you later change the prototype.

You can:

  • Reuse a Capture to start additional prototypes later
  • Keep multiple prototypes linked to the same original Capture
  • Iterate with confidence without affecting the preserved source

Limitations

  • Only works with publicly accessible pages (no login required)
  • May not capture all interactive elements perfectly
  • Best results with static content

For private pages or pixel-perfect accuracy, use the Browser Extension instead.
