Workspaces

A workspace in Alloy is the main container for your team's projects, captures, prototypes and integrations, with admins managing members, permissions and settings. Workspace settings include the unique name, URL appended to alloy.app and data region for storage, all of which are set during creation. To view workspace settings, select the workspace name from the top navigation bar and choose Settings then General under Workspace.

What are workspaces?

A workspace in Alloy is the main container for your team's projects, captures, prototypes and integrations. Workspace admins manage team members, permissions and workspace-wide settings.

When you sign up for Alloy, we automatically create a personal workspace for you. The current workspace displays in the top-left of Alloy's navigation bar. Select the workspace name to view settings, invite new members or change to another workspace.

View workspace settings

To view your workspace's settings:

  1. Select the workspace name from the top navigation bar.
  2. Select Settings. The settings modal displays.
  3. Under Workspace, select General.

From here, you can view the following settings:

  • Name: the workspace's unique name
  • URL: the workspace's unique resource location–this is appended to Alloy's domain as http://alloy.app/<my-workspace-name>
  • Data region: the region where Alloy stores your workspace data

Currently, these are set upon creation. To change these settings, contact our support team.

Delete a workspace

Warning: Deleting a workspace removes all trace of the workspace, its members, and its data permanently. You cannot recover captures, prototypes, components, or other data stored against the workspace.
